The board-certified pathologists practicing at Precision Pathology Laboratory Services and Village Oaks Pathology Services, PA, have provided Anatomic and Clinical Pathology services for patients and their physicians practicing in San Antonio since 1986. We always remember that every specimen has come from someone’s loved one, so we are determined to provide the precise diagnosis every time and as quickly as possible. All of the specimens submitted to Precision Pathology Laboratory Services are examined by at least two experienced and board-certified pathologists. If there is a disagreement between the primary pathologist’s diagnosis and the secondary quality control pathologist’s diagnosis, the case is sent to a third expert pathologist outside of our practice for an additional opinion. These outside pathology experts are recognized world authorities who do not practice general pathology but rather have specialized in very narrow areas of pathology.

Flow Cytometry for Noninvasive Lung Cancer Testing
Uses flow cytometry+AI to identify cell populations in patient sputum that indicate malignancy. CyPath® Lung incorporates a fluorescent porphyrin that is preferentially taken up by cancer and cancer-related cells. CyPath® Lung has demonstrated high sensitivity, specificity and accuracy for the detection of lung cancer as early as Stage 1A.

Non-invasive Diagnostic Test for Lung Cancer
CyPath® Lung is a noninvasive diagnostic test designed to support clinical decision-making in patients at increased risk for lung cancer. Using advanced flow cytometry and proprietary artificial intelligence, the test identifies cellular biomarkers associated with malignancy, including early-stage disease. In clinical studies, the test has demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity—particularly for patients with small indeterminate pulmonary nodules— complementing imaging and existing diagnostic pathways while potentially reducing unnecessary invasive procedures. Patients collect a sputum sample at home and overnight it to Precision Pathology Laboratory Services. Physicians receive objective, actionable results within three days of sample receipt at our lab.
